Yesterday’s prompt on writing101 was: to pick up the nearest book and
flip to page 29. What’s the first word that jumps off the page?
Use this word as your springboard for inspiration.
The first word that jumped off the page for me was idea, something I have been lacking these past few weeks, so I decided that would be a good topic to write about. Rather than using the twist of writing this as a letter I will keep my personal writing style and write this like a debating topic.
As a creative person not having any ideas is impossible. But not having any ideas that I think are good enough is a problem that I have on a daily basis. You see, I am somewhat of a perfectionist, especially when I comes to arts, whether that is a dance routine, a song, a video, a photo or perhaps a blog post. Also originality is very important and in this day and age originality is rare.
Now let’s talk about ideas in general.
Everything comes from ideas. This keyboard I am writing on was somebody’s idea which he or she realized. The screen you are looking at was also once an idea and most importantly this post was once just an idea in my head which I presented you on this page. It’s silly how something big starts from something so small like an idea, which a lot of people would rule of as unimportant. Ideas are the base of everything and we cannot live without them.
In conclusion, ideas should be valued and respected for what they are, something magnificent that makes our life better every day. And of course they shouldn’t be taken for granted or used in a bad manner. That goes without saying (I hope).
SO GOOD BYE FOR NOW, MY FRIENDS (if anyone is even reading)
