April favourites

Here we go, another favourites post. If you follow my blog content closely you would know that I skipped March favourites, and that is because I didn’t really have a lot of new things to show. So here is the 3rd favourites post of the year. I hope you’ll enjoy!

img_5343

Farmasi All in One CC Cream

Farmasi is a brand that I have just recently heard of and, since I ordered a few of their things. One of those things was this CC cream and I absolutely fell in love with it. It is a bit darker, but it still looks good on me and very natural. It lasts about 5/6 hours until I get oily which is long for my skin. I also love the slight scent it has, as long as the fact that I can use it without compact powder without looking like a complete mess! Also it was pretty inexpensive, especially since it was on sale.

Maybelline Colorshow 60 seconds nail polish in 20 Blush Berry and 59 Marina Chic

I was really impressed by these nail polishes from Maybelline, you get such a great quality for a small amount of money. There is so many colours to choose from, I got this dark blue one for myself and a week after that I got the berry one as a gift. The colours are so amazing, I am for sure going to where one of them for my prom this Saturday. Also in all of these photos I am wearing the 20. I have never seen before that I can wear the same nail polish, after two coats, for a week and have minimal chipping that isn’t even noticeable. Best thing ever!

img_5339

Maybelline Fit me foundation

Since I run out of the Farmasi CC cream I had to buy a new foundation in my local drugstore. I went in to get the affinitone one, but my shade was sold out. That is why I picked this foundation that I previously considered to dry-looking after I tried the tester on my skin. And let me tell you it is definitely dry, but not too dry that it looks awful, it is matt and smooth. What I need to mention is that if you have dry skin or dry patches this foundation is not for you! My nose is a bit dryer that the rest of my skin and I can notice a difference, but since it is not completely dry it still looks fine. The price is same as the affinitone is, so I thought that it was worth trying.

Essence Eyebrow designer in Blonde

I have no idea how I managed to get to this point and not mention this product. This eyebrow pencil is a product that is a constant in my makeup routine, and I have been repurchasing it for more than 2 years. This is the lightest shade that they offer and it works perfectly with my skin tone and hair colour. it is so inexpensive but works perfectly. If they discontinue this one I have no idea what product will I have to buy next. Also it’s bigger when you buy it (I use it a lot 😉 ).

img_5348

Flormar Lip Balm in Black Mulberry

I got this lip balm when I was on my excursion  in September, in Athens. I just walked in the first store I saw was opened and picked this one up. What draw me to this balm was the colour and the scent which match perfectly. I love wearing pigmented lip balms like this and Maybelline’s Baby Lips electro. This is the perfect thing to always bring with you wherever you go because it keeps your lips moisturized and it has SPF 15!

img_5345

Farmasi Botanics Shampoo with Nettle

I have very problematic hair. Even though it is fairly short it gets oily too fast and I have dandruff as well. This shampoo actually makes a difference when it comes to my hair. I can usually last 2 days without washing my hair and this gives me an extra day without washing it. As soon as your hair dries you see how soft and shiny your hair is, and the scent that this shampoo leaves is absolutely heavenly, I never knew something like nettle can be good for your hair, but when my hairdresser recommended both nettle and this particular shampoo I had to get it straight away and I haven’t regretted!

img_5346

Snob Milano sunglasses

I couldn’t wait for better weather so I can start wearing these babies again. I got them last year somewhere in the middle of summer. These are reflective but not too much, since I really hate that. They are a small frame since they are italian, which works perfectly with my small head. I can honestly say that I have never seen a pair of sunglasses that look better on me than these. I fell like I get so many compliments every single time I wear them or post them on instagram. Definitely money well spent!

img_5340

Rimmel Lasting finish compact powder

I decided to break routine a little and try a new compact powder. I picked this Rimmel one and I do not really have to say a lot about it honestly. It works fine and it lasts a long time in combination with my new foundation, and that is the reason why it is in my April favourites. But I also think I won’t be repurchasing it again because I think my Catrice compact powder work just as good for less amount of money and also you get a bit more product. I got this on 50% off sale so it was approximately the same price as the Catrice one.

img_5336 Schaebens Peel-off Mask

Recently Muller opened in my home town and I went to buy something new there to try it out. I saw this mask on the shelf and since I haven’t ever tried a peel off mask I decided to give it a try, and also it doesn’t cost a lot of money (maybe 1 euro). After trying it for the first time I fell in love with it. It leaves your skin clean and mattiefied instantly. Your complexion looks so even and nice,  I have never seen a mask do something like that. This small packaging has enough for two uses. The only thing that I find disappointing is that this packaging is all they have, there isn’t a full size product, at least in my town.

That  would be it for this months favourites. I hope you have enjoyed and that you are going to come back for more next month! Please do be so kind and leave a couple of your favourites from April in the comments below.

February favourites

So, last favourites did pretty well and I decided to continue this little series for as long as I have something new to show you. This months favourites are pretty much what I got for my birthday post, since most of the products I got like that. But, without any more rambling let’s start.

img_3870-1 Real Techniques Limited Edition Multitask Set

One of the birthday gifts I got, and fell in love with immediately. This set comes with 3 amazing brushes and a case that can be used as a brush holder. I know it isn’t that cheap or affordable but you can use it for everything. I use the multitask cheek brush for my foundation and concealer, the multitask face brush for my compact powder and multitask eye brush for my everyday eye makeup look. What I love about them is that they come with instructions for what do you use which and also Sam & Nick, have tutorials for every set out there.  So helpful!

img_3879-1

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Highlighter in 100

My friend clearly know that I love makeup and they got me this amazing highlighter from Maybelline. I don’t use it everyday but I do use it weekly. I love the shimmer I get from it and how easy it is to apply it. Just dab it a few times above your cheekbone and blend it quickly, it’s that easy! The shine look very natural and pretty.

img_3880-1

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub

The first contact with Lush Lip Scrubs I had, was with the Christmas edition one and I love it. So, when I used it up, I decided to get a new one and picked this one at their store. It works the same as the previous one but has a completely different taste. This one is the most unique one out of their lip scrub range because it is both  sweet and salty. The taste is definitely something you have to get use to, but I clearly love it since it is in my favourites. I use it every time I am wearing a lipstick, especially before darker matt ones.

img_3886

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in 365

I think I already talked about my love for the colour burgundy, so it comes at no surprise that one of my favourite lipsticks ever is this one from Maybelline called Plum Passion.I love how it looks on, it moisturizes and lasts for a long time. Dark purple lipstick are usually what I go for especially in cold months. I wrote about my favourite dark purple lipstick in an old blog post where this one is featured, so if you are interested in that click here!

img_3882-1Catrice Multi Matt Brush in 010

I have been using this blush for about a year now. Switching from the first shade in 010 to the slightly darker 020 one, all year around as seasons pass by. I love it so much, but I have to say for colder months I like the this lighter version a bit better on my fair skin tone. It gives you a bit of colour with just one quick apply. The multiple colours give you various choices, I usually blend all of them together in circular motion with an angled brush and simply apply it on my cheeks. The plus is the affordable price and it being matt since my skin is oily after just a few hours. No touch ups needed.
img_3881-1

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I feel like I have been using this since it just came out in my country. I tried a lot more cleansers and micellar water from different brands and Garnier also but nothing really works as good as this one so I always get back to it. It is really great for sensitive skin and it doesn’t leave my skin red after cleaning my face as a lot of other do. It last about 3+ months, since I do use makeup almost every day. It is quit affordable especially comparing it with other drugstore products.

img_3883-1

CV Makeup Wipes

I discovered these makeup wipes this summer and every time I have a chance on repurchasing them I do. Makeup wipes are so great for those lazy nights when you just do not one to deal with your everyday makeup cleansers. I like them a lot better than the Nivea ones that can often be really harsh on my skin and leave me red and even itchy. This brand is, I think, exclusive for Muller store, so if you have one near definitely go there and find yourself these wipes. There are more types and I use these which are for younger than 25. They have a great scent and leave my skin looking fresh and clean. Also the price is amazing, almost half price of the Nivea ones.

img_3894

Shoebox Burgundy Boots

Also the showcase of me loving burgundy. And the only velvet thing I have in my house, and the only exception to my do not wear velvet rule. Look at them, they are so cute and pretty. I got them in November while I was in Zagreb and they were on an insane sale, so I could justify the 10th pair of boots I would now own. I just started wearing them intensely and I have been getting a lot of compliments since they are kind of the first thing you see when I walk in a room (have in mind that I am usually only wearing all black 🙂 ). A great investment and contribute to my wardrobe.

That will be it for my February favourites. It was the shortest month and I still had something to show you, we will see if I will do the same for the following one. I like to see what are your favourite things from last month and maybe even take up on trying the things you mention! Thank you for you attention.

Autumn ready : Dark purple and plum lips

cats

So as you already know, autumn is here. Autumn is my favourite season of them all, for many reasons. But now I am going to talk about autumn beauty, more specifically the dark lip colours. Purple and plum lip colours are my go-to trend for the colder months and I am very happy to share some colours from my personal collection.

  1. Beauty UK – in 17 plumpalicious
I have already talked about this product before, but if you happened to miss that I am featuring it again. The colour is divine and it is long-lasting. The formula of the lipstick is very rehydrating, but it goes a bit matte after some time, which really suits me. Also it has kind of mint odour which is just a plus.
  2. Maybelline’s Baby Lips Electro – in berry bomb
This is my holy grail lip product and the secret behind the perfect purple lip. It is coloured lip balm and it smells so nice. Don’t be scared by the colour of it, it doesn’t look like that at all. As you can see from the swatches it’s like a sheer purple which, let me tell you, makes any purple colour look great if you put this as the top coat. And it also look great by it self since it does stain your lips a bit.
  3. Maybelline’s colorsensational – in 365 plum passion
A new piece in my collection. Beautiful colour, nice scent and a good creamy consistency! Feels so good on the lips and the colour stays more than I thought it will.
  4. TOPSHOP’s matte lip bullet – in Call me Queen Bee
Also a product I have already mentioned, but it deserves to be featured one again. It is matte, long-lasting and really really purple (especially paired with the baby lips electro)! I love the packaging and the fact that it functions like a stick because it is more economical that way.

All in all, dark lips are a bold statement that I dared to try only a year ago. If you are worried about what other people will say, don’t be. There is no point! Enjoy in everything you want to and dare to be bold, because in the end lip colour is so insignificant but it is also a way to express yourself.
Also if you are already a proud owner of dark lipsticks, maybe put some recommendations in the comments below, since I am always looking to expand my forever-growing collection.

Summer Fashion and Beauty Haul

As promised in my Summer post, here is my Summer haul!

I went shopping a few times because I needed some new goodies for this summer. Here are some!

img_0772

I bought this crop top in Bershka. It was pretty cheap, and I like the length since it comes to my belly button so it’s not a very short crop top. Also I am loving how it looks with my new overalls!

IMG_0773

These are the overalls that I previously mentioned. I got them from New Yorker and I am totally obsessed with them, especially that they are black. Also they are in ever store this year, so I can already tell you overalls are going to be a big trend.

img_1024

Also from Bershka I got this new pair of high-waisted light denim jeans. They are stretchy and so comfortable. Also very inexpensive.

img_0999

Here we have my new bag from H&M, it’s a black faux leather bag with gold details and I love it so much. I take it everywhere because it’s the perfect size. Also on the photo you can see my new sunglasses from New Yorker. They were on sale and they are kind of like cat eye sunglasses but a bit more round so they are pretty much fit for any face shape.

img_0775

I got these sandals from Humanic. I was looking for a perfect pair of black sandals everywhere and these ones were the only ones that I fell in love with. They are very comfortable once you break them in and also they have a little heel which means a lot to me because any kind of totally flat shoe makes my feet ache.

img_1023

I had to get a new Iphone mask since I went from Iphone 5 to Iphone 6 and I bought this one from New Yorker. It’s cute and black, so I love it. It is as simple as that.

img_0750

It’s summer and every girl who has oily skin needs a good primer. I saw this L’Oreal one in my local drugstore and decided to pick it up. The product by itself is fine. It primes your skin, makes makeup get on easier and even holds it on for a while, but it more like a going out primer then one you will wear to work. However, my mother who has dry skin said that is working great for her, so if you also have dry skin you’ll might want to try it.

img_0749

This product is amazing. I had this exact Art Deco primer last year while I worked and it really makes your makeup last long. Even when you get a bit oily your makeup stays even on your eyelids. It is on a pricier side, but I know a lot pricier product that don’t work nearly as good. I think I might do a full review of it on one of my next Sunday reviews.

img_1018

I want to get my hand on Maybelline‘s color tattoo eyeshadow for a long time. This one is in shade Pomegranate Pink and it looks great with my eye colour (since I have blue-ish green eyes, not every colour suits me). Also it lasts all day which is amazing, you really get what you paid for.

img_1016

I ran out of my Rocket mascara from Maybelline so I decided to try the Lash Sensational. Although it makes my eyelashes very long and curved I still prefer the Rocket mascara.

img_10171

I also restocked one of my most used compact powders and it’s Maybelline‘s Affinitone in the shade 17. I am probably going to need a new darker compact powder so if you have any recommendations that would be great. I mean this one does the job well, but I want a little bit of change.

That would be it for my short Summer Haul. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading!

Sunday Review: Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express mascara

So, I have been ignoring the hype about the Maybelline Rocket mascara since it came out, because I already had so much mascaras that I didn’t even use, but then something happened.

img_4775
For Christmas I got some discount coupons for some beauty products and one of them was for Maybelline Rocket mascara, so I said why not and I bought it. Ever since then I have been using it every single day. It so amazing and I like it better than my previous favourite L’Oreal Paris Voluminous which is saying a lot.

It really makes your eyelashes so long and black that it almost looks like you are wearing false eyelashes, but it leaves no clumps at all which is the most important thing in mascara for me, personally. I cannot even find a down side of it. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants long, voluminous lashes without clumps since it is very inexpensive comparing to some other mascaras I have had before.

Rate: 5/5
