Getting into the Christmas vibe #1

Yes, I am very well aware of the date and the title of this post! Yes, I am one of those people who enjoy Christmas to the fullest and start to feel Christmassy as soon as November starts! If you are not like me, here are some good Christmas/Holiday movies to watch this holiday season! And if you indeed are one of those people, join me by litting up your favourite Christmas candle and blasting out that Micheal Bubble Christmas album!

The Holiday – an easy romantic Christmas movie that I would definitely skip if you are feeling down about being single these holidays.

Arthur Christmas – it is a cartoon, but if that fact does not bother you too much it is a movie worth watching because it really gives a good message and that Christmas spirit!

Home Alone – I know everyone has seen every movie multiple times, but there is no Christmas without Home Alone. You have a favourite one for sure, just watch that one!

Love Actually
– a favourite of many, various storylines can certainly offer something to everyone!

The Family Stone
– a comedy within a movie about an unusual family, with an amazing cast!

Die Hard
– for all those action movie lovers, or simply everyone who is in love with young Bruce Willis.

Christmas with the Kranks
– also one of those movies filled with famous actors, a comedy about a family that decided to skip Christmas, but then everything kind of changed.

How the Grinch stole Christmas
– also one of the classics, one of those movies you are sick of wathcing but can’t help but watch, why should this year be different?

  • That will be it for the first post in this series! I am very glad that I will get to share my love of Christmas!  Thank you for reading!

The Sunshine Blogger’s Award

Thank you to the lovely mrsjackieo and beanzbeblogging for nominating me! I appreciate is so much.

The rules for the award:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions from your nominators.
  3. Nominate eleven other bloggers and give them eleven questions.

Since I already thanked the people who have nominated me (you should probably go and check their blogs out as soon as you finish reading this post), now we are going to answer  questions:

  1. What is your favorite dessert? Cheesecake without a doubt!
  2. What feeds your mind? Music, writing, dancing and photography! Oh, look at that artistic little soul. 😉
  3. Picasso or Monet? I am a Monet kind of girl, actually he is one of my favourite painters and I have a poster of one of his painting that I need to frame and put on my wall ASAP. TMI?
  4. You only have 2 choices of where to live: hi-rise apartment or country bungalow? Hi-rise apartment.
  5. Why? Well, I like the feeling of a city and the general flow in big cities.
  6. You want to entertain friends. Are you cooking or going to a restaurant? Going to a restaurant, I don’t really know how to cook much, but I do like to bake, still going to the restaurant, it is safer!
  7. What makes you smile? Soft cardigans, good written songs and essays, food that I love, people whom I love.
  8. What makes your heart-break? Injustice, inequality.
  9. Do you still own vinyl record albums? No, but I was thinking about getting a record player!
  10. Paperback or hardcover? Or e-book? It depends, sometimes it is nicer to have a hardcover because the book doesn’t change whilst you read, but if you are going to bring a book somewhere it is good to have a paperback because they are usually smaller and more compact and of course lighter.
  11. And finally, who is the sunshine in your life? Don’t answer here-go tell them, not us!

  1. What inspired you to start your blog? I thought that I could better use my free time and really get everything out my system when I need it.
  2. 3 people who have inspired you the most and in what way? My grandmother as a strong woman who has been through and survived a lot. When it comes to other people usually it changes every now and then.
  3. 5 books that have provoked you to think and held your thoughts for a while? Really hard questions in this Q&A session. Ariana Franklin’s Mistress of the Art of Death, Jostein Gaarder Sofie’s World (even though I haven’t read it all yet), Croatian edition of 100 poets of the world edited by Anun Šoljan (1971), Zagrebačka priča (not translated to any language except Croatian) by Blanka Dovjak – Matković and Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
  4. One quote that could describe you? I hate being told what to do! Especially by myself!  ― Lynn Flewelling
  5. What is ART according to you? To me art is everything with what you express yourself, so that includes fashion and makeup.
  6. 3 things that you cannot live without? Music, chocolate and cold vanilla nescafe.
  7. 3 morals and values that you will not change for anything or anyone in the world ? Be truthful without hurting others, communication is the most important thing in any kind of relationship so express and read emotions, try to understand something even if it makes no sense at this moment.
  8. The heart or the mind & Why? Mind, it has got me so far so I would say it works? The best thing would be if both of them would be in coalition.
  9. Love or Lust & Why? In depends, both positive and both great. Sometimes one works better and it is more expressed than other, but also coalition would be ideal.
  10. If your life was a movie, the movie would be entitled ……………… ? I think I already answered this question before. Let me check! …… Oh, I was asked to what would my autobiography be named and the answer was (Un)fortunate series of events. I really think that would be an amazing name for the both, so I am reserving it! 😉
  11. A line that you feel could be inspiring to anyone who reads it?
“You can’t force love, I realized. It’s there or it isn’t. If it’s not there, you’ve got to be able to admit it. If it is there, you’ve got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.”
    Richelle Mead, Frostbite

Writing101: Day Seven – Hook ‘Em With a Quote

Today is all about quotes, and using the blockquote feature. So here is the quote:

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

As a writer/blogger I always have this urge to share some of my most personal stories with my readers. Sometimes it is just because I want a raw and truthful to the maximum story and sometimes I just need to get that story out of my system and make it more clearer. Examples for both of those post are: 1) A Room With A View and 2) A Story In A Single Image.

The same way a lie eats you out, untold story eats a writer out. The struggle between keeping your personal life enough private and writing about some aspects of your life that truly are stories which deserved to be heard is present all the time. We all have those stories we don’t tell anyone, no matter how much we want to. But now I am asking you one very important question: Why are you keeping that story for yourself? Too intimate? Too raw? Too embarrassing? Too scary? Are you afraid of people actually getting to know you? I know I am!

New music: Badlands by Halsey

Today I am here because I want to talk about something. More specifically someone! An artist called Halsey and her new album Badlands that came out a few days ago.

If you had seen my Summer playlist, you already know how much I was (and still am) obsessed with Halsey’s song Hold Me Down. That was actually the first song if hers I have stumbled upon whilst my endless scrolling through Tumblr. And ever since that song I started listening to other songs she had and (un)patiently waiting for her new album to come out. The deluxe version of the album contains 16 amazing songs and you can find them on iTunes – here!
It has been only a few days since the release but I have already memorized every single word and note of that perfection. Now I can only tell you my favourite songs from the bunch and throw some lyrics with them!

I’m bigger than my body
I’m colder than this come
I’m meaner than my demons
I’m bigger than these bones

New Americana
We are the new Americana
High on legal marijuana
Raised on Biggie and Nirvana

And all the people say
“You can’t wake up, this is not a dream
You’re part of a machine, you are not a human being
With your face all made up, living on a screen
Low on self-esteem, so you run on gasoline”

Already choking on my pride,
so there’s no use crying about it

Strange Love
They think I’m insane, they think my lover is strange
But I don’t have to fucking tell them anything, anything
And I’m gonna write it all down, and I’m gonna sing it on stage
But I don’t have to fucking tell you anything, anything

A quote a day, 3

This quote has helped me to get over a lot of things, and I also think that this is the perfect ending to this challenge. To me this means that no matter what is happening now, I know I can take it and that I have a lot of better things ahead of me. Everything in our life is temporary and once when we fully embrace that fact we finally begin to live.

I got nominated from the lovely Bittersweet Sensations to do this 3 quotes in 3 days challenge. This is the last day as I already mentioned and that means that you have two post more to read. Click here for the second one and here for the first one.

1. Post 3 of your favorite quotes each per day for 3 recurrent days. The quotes can be of any other people or it may come straight from your own heart.
2. Nominate 3 bloggers with each post to challenge them.
3. Don’t forget to utter a thankful word to the person who nominated you.

1. I didn’t have my glasses on
2. at least I have a brain
3. Italian Hurricane
