Tights: New Yorker
Shirt: Stradivarius
Coat: Mango
Boots: Zara

First outfit post of the year. We are starting pretty much the same as we did last year, so nothing crazy and new. Definitely a different style and location, that’s true, so keep on reading if you want to get a closer look at what I am wearing.

I cannot ever say enough about this amazing coat I got in Mango, it’s so simple but stylish and it brings every single outfit together. I never thought my petite body could look good when wearing a long coat but this piece proved me wrong. A great investment definitely!

Again my classic ripped jeans with some glittery tights underneath so I am warm. Just love how this looks, I mean every interesting pair of tights work, but these ones are my favorite because they are a detail that elevates the whole look to be a bit more put together. And let me tell you, I found them in my wardrobe because I wore them maybe once a few years ago and now I am wearing them almost every single day. Sometimes hoarding clothes pays out.

My new boots from Zara are another addition to my ever-growing collection of boots, but these are the ones that I probably wear the most since they are black and not heeled. The studs make them a bit grungy which I like. In addition to that grungy little moment, I added some black stud earrings.

Last, but definitely not the least, my new sweater from Stradivarius which is probably the most loved item in my closet right now. It is so soft that you feel like you are wearing a blanket and all you want to do is to rub your face on it. The color matches my neutral palette when it comes to clothing so I have many combinations to wear it with.

That will be all for now. These beautiful photos were taken by my amazing boyfriend on our walk around the Blue Lake. Had a great time and got a lot of great photos, there is no better than that!

For more day-to-day looks, makeup and other be sure to follow me on my two Instagrams (links on the right side and/or under this). Also for previews of my posts and notices about when something is out! Thank you for reading once again, I’ll see you in my next post and I for sure hope you are going to be there again!!

Must see – Zagreb Advent 2017

Again, for the third year in a row, Zagreb has been chosen as the best advent place and given that I actually live here for most of the time in next few years I thought it was only right to check some places out and present you what the advent is all about.
I haven’t really been out every single day to see everything but some high points will be shown in both photographs and my commentary. I hope you like this post and consider checking Zagreb’s advent this year (for what is even left of it) or perhaps next year since it can only get better from here!

One of the most beautiful attractions (and one of the most photographed as well) is the Marićev prolaz that is decorated in such a way to look absolutely magical. It’s actually a passway (that’s what prolaz means in Croatian) that is decorated just in this time of the year (and correct me if I am wrong you who know better, I think this is the first year they did something like this for advent). The tiny lights on those branches make up such a romantic and wonderful place that the passway is usually packed with people so it is hard to take a nice photo. So if you want to do so, I advise you to go a bit earlier in the morning or later at night when most of the tourist groups aren’t around.

This is the famous park Zrinjevac in the center of Zagreb. Switching on the lights, that you can see in these photos, for the first time always signifies the beginning of Advent and it is an event a lot of people come to see. The park is usually, by itself, beautiful but for Advent, at night it becomes a place that you must visit just to see the magic of millions of lights around it.

Ice park on the King Tomislav Square is one of the most visited sites every advent. It really is magical and romantic to ice skate with the scenery surrounding you, especially at night when the lights go on. I have been there to skate 3 times and I wish I could have been every single day. The tickets aren’t that pricey but they do go away quickly for the closest session on weekends.

The part of the advent that happens in Upper Town Zagreb is also amazing. There you have some of the most photographed sites of the whole advent. Also in close proximity there 3 places you have to visit; Caffe de Matoš with cute benches and little cafes with photograph so well,  Stross which offers you a lot of gourmet choices and fun places to take photos as Rudolph, Santa and Grinch  and my favourite Klovićevi dvori (Klović palace) where you can eat about anything and see the whole city from up there while listening to good live concerts.

In the Strossmayer park which is between King Tomislav square and Zrinjevac there is also a lot of food place choices and some of the extra sightings like the HBO gift shop where you can buy literally anything related to GOT, LOTR or Harry Potter and you can also drink and eat stuff that is related to Harry Potter series. Next to that, you have a cute looking little circus where your youngest ones can have fun.

That will be all for this posts! I wish you all the best in the new year that is in front of us, and I hope you spent your holidays well.

January Favorites

img_3532

Hello, new year, new feature here on my blog. This is my first favourites post and I hope you will like it enough for me to post a February one. I know I am a bit late, this usually goes up the first few days of the month, but last week and a half I was crazy busy!

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer – This is a budget friendly concealer from a drugstore that is also so good that I am on my 4 tube I think. It is long-lasting since it’s waterproof and give such an amazing coverage. I had a lot of Borjuois concealers and this one is just as good, but a lot cheaper! I am in shade 02, and sadly this is the darkest shade and I am very fair so I can use both the 02 one and 01.

NYX Lid Lingerie – This is probably the best makeup item I have ever purchased. I love the formula of this, it goes on so smoothly and stays all day. Mixing with other shades is also very good, but on its own it also looks beautiful with the shimmer it has. I have it in the shade Rose Pearl and it is my go to eye makeup look, especially when I am running late. I just put it on, some mascara and done!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation– New foundation in 2017. Actually I am on the hunt for the perfect new foundation and this one was the first on my hunt! It is better than my old Bell one, but still not the perfect match for me. It gives great coverage, but you do not feel it on your face. For me it is not so long-lasting it should be and I even use a compact powder over it. If you do not like scents in your makeup stay free from this one, if you are okay with that than you should try it for yourself if you have normal/dry skin. For us with oily skin it isn’t what we are looking for, but still a good foundation.

Maybelline the Colossal Go Extreme! Mascara – Well, I got this mascara for Christmas as a present and have been using it ever since. It is my new favourite mascara, so similar to the Rocket Volume Mascara from Maybelline which I loved so much when it came out! It darkness my lashes and gives it great volume and lengths. Perfect!

Seventeen Clear Skin Tea Tree Oil Cream – I got this while I was in Greece, because I forgot to bring my cream with me on the travel. Just stumbled upon a small drugstore and saw the label and words clear skin and bought it. I used it there and forgot about it when I came home. So, how I started using it? Well, I got a case of post-holiday acne and used this just to try it again and I saw the results over just one night. After 3 days of using it once a day my acne cleared up completely. Amazing cream, it is a moisturizer and it balances your skin and it was pretty inexpensive if I remember correctly.

Maybelline Affinitone Foundation – Thanks to the cream my skin has become so amazing that I didn’t need a full coverage foundation on those easy days when I am not wearing makeup for most of the day. On those days I have been using this foundation from Maybelline and it feels so amazing on my skin, it stays for 5/6 hours without touching up or even putting on a compact powder. It is so light and it covers just enough.

Catrice Eyeliner Pen – I am impressed with the brand Catrice, so impressed that on the advise of my friend I got their eyeliner pen to try it out. And it is so amazing, easy to use and long-lasting, it stand all crying and cry-laughing I do. In January I did a lot of cat eyeliner and with this it is so easy to do it, I haven’t ever done a flick so easily.

Givenchy Electric Rose – This is a limited edition perfume that through years has become my signature perfume. The first time I finished the bottle I figured that I would have a hard way of finding another one, and that was true. Untill I found one in an airport tax-free fragrance store and I was thrilled.  It passed 4 months and I almost finished this one. I am not going to try to explain the fragrance, but you can read my review about it here!

Syoss Anti-Grease Dry Shampoo– This has been my saviour more than once, since my hair pretty much become greasy after one day. For me it is a better product than Batiste one’s but I don’t quit like the scent it has, but a little perfume in my hair after brushing this out fixes everything!

Deborah Lipstick – I have already talked about this product before. One of the things I mentioned is that it s pretty much the only shade of red I can possibly bear to wear on my lips. This is Deborah lipstick from their line of Red lipsticks, and it is in number 3. It has a nice shimmer that is barely visible and it looks amazing!

MAC lipstick – Also already raved about this one in my MAC Mini Collection. This is Sophisto and it also has a shimmer in it, but it is a rich burgundy colour which goes with most of my clothing. And have I mentioned I love burgundy a bit too much?

That would be all for January favourites! I hope you liked it and that you want to see February Favourites in half a month, be sure to comment your favourite products from beginning of this year as well.

Mood board for January

page.jpg

I have been doing mood boards for over a year now, the concept is me giving some information about what I did that month that is connected with this photos (that I rebloged onto my Tumblr, if you want to check it out it’s girlonfire-youtube-lover).

New year, new beginning, new changes!

First of all, new schedule! Now I am posting every Monday ( or at least trying to post every Monday)!

On winter break I got hooked on this new TV series Conviction! It is soooo good!

When we are on the subject of TV series I have to mention one of my new favourite shows Quantico and its leading lady Priyanka Chopra.

This winter I got into wearing beanies and scarves! Got a new beanie for Christmas from someone special and I have been wearing it everywhere. Just take a look at my instagram, you’ll see.

I don’t think I ever told you that I cannot possibly sleep with my socks on, not even in the coldest winter days.

I sometimes forget how much I actually know about egyptian mythology.

I noticed that I buy too much shirts with written stuff on it. And I am not mad about it!

Since I am in a look for the perfect prom dress I decided to keep up with this Award season watching the red carpet presented by E! .

Feelings

A lot of people run away from their own feelings, including myself and maybe you – the person reading this. Running away can be detected in various ways. You can pretend what you are feeling isn’t real. Also, you can refuse to fathom your feelings, to split it to their essence. Of course you can always literally run away from your feelings. You can “block” yourself from feeling something, or better said, you can block yourself from showing those feelings.

It’s a shitty world, I know. Everyone wants to protect themselves from getting emotionally hurt. But think about it, if you do these things to prevent yourself from getting hurt, feeling hurt, pain, sadness, unhappiness etc. you are also limiting the amount of great feelings that make our life worth living.

Tears are not just from sadness, are they? Laughing or smiling isn’t always a showcase of a happy emotion. Pain isn’t necessarily bad. Forget now for just a second what you learned about positive and negative emotions and feelings. Life is about finding exceptions to the rules. No one should go through life looking it in black and white, defining something as purely good or purely bad without any mix between those contrasted emotions. So dare to feel.

I think this is enough said about this topic, and I hope I left you wanting to think about what I said here. If you want to add something or even tell me I am wrong, I welcome you to do so in the comments bellow.
Thank you for reading!
