It comes a time
in your life
when you start to
question everything
you ever thought.

Death is suddenly scary,
and love is more clear.
People do whisper
but you know whom
you want near.

Life becomes more
than just breathing,
Survival is not
the goal of the day.
No certainty.

Time speeds up
and slows down,
whispers get louder
and shouts more quiet.
No reality.

You, who hated poems
write them instead
of reading them.
You are where there’s
No going back.
