Skin Care + Reviews

Today I am going to talk about my most used skin care products! These products are my saviours and maybe they will make your life easier too! For reference my skin type is combination to oily skin, the area under my eyes is sometimes dry as well as my nose; my chin, forehead and area around the nose are super oily.

img_3616
This is a product I have already talked about and if you want to see the full review go here! It is really insane how much this product has helped me. It can be used once or twice in a week, but I use it once and once a week I use the mask you will see below!

img_3609
This is a totally new product! I never used a hydration mask and I never used Avon’s skin care products. It smells divine and makes my skin feel so nourished and soft. In combination with the mud mask my skin feels amazing and I have less break outs than when I don’t use these products which is a great plus. I have been thinking of buying more products with this scent because it is so good I wish it was a perfume.

img_3608
Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water is my holy grail product! I have repurchase it so many times that I lost count. I did a review of the Garnier’s Pure Active Micellar water some time ago. For that review click here! I prefer this one a bit more, because it is less harsh on my skin, but the other one does the same job.

img_3605
I heard so many great things about Clearasil. These are Clearasil’s rapid action akut pads. You are supposed to use it in the morning and at night, but I usually skip the morning one. After I remove my makeup with the micellar water I use this to wipe everything that is left and to refresh my skin. It really helps with break-outs and redness caused by them.

img_3613
Also something new and exciting! As a person who has really oily skin I was always afraid of moisturizers, but them I heard about mattifying creams so I decided to try one. This product doesn’t make your skin matt after you use it, but it really does make your skin receive all moisture that it needs and it doesn’t make you face more oily. Also it makes applying foundation a lot easier. It really is so inexpensive and you need the smallest amount you can imagine to cover your whole face so it is very economical and affordable. But again if you are looking for something that is going to make your skin matt this isn’t the product, it simply gives you moisture without making you more oily which works perfectly for me!

About self-love

A few days ago I went on a book promotion of famous Croatian writer and sociologist, whom I won’t name. He mostly writes about self-love, love toward your family and friends and his books belong to the self-help category. In 1 hour we went through various themes, including how important it is to love yourself and to your see good features as significant ones and also why it is important to forgive or learn how to forgive. At the end of the promotion he was signing his books and my mother went up to him and told him to sign it for me. And that is when he asked her how old I was (I am 17) and when she answered him he look at her almost confused and told her that he thinks it is to early for me to read his books because they are a type of self-help books. He pretty much told her that it is too early for me to learn how to love myself and appreciate my good features equally as my bad ones. This really bothered me (and my mother also wasn’t very indifferent about it), so let me introduce myself to you and that way explain to you why exactly  it bothered me.

I am 17. I have anxiety and I have been fighting with it and panic attacks on top of that for almost 8 years now. I had a period in my life where I was depressed and had extremely bad suicidal thoughts. My confidence is pretty much non-existent and I blame myself for every little thing that happens that I know is not my fault in any way. I never loved myself or my body and I still don’t but I am trying really hard to change that.

I hope you now understand why what he said really set me off. And I also hope you agree that there is no early time to start loving yourself and learning how to value yourself as much as you deserve.

Mood Board for October

page

I have been doing mood boards for a few months, but last month I started with the new concept of giving some information about what I did that month that is connected with this photos (that I rebloged onto my Tumblr, if you want to check it out it’s girlonfire-youtube-lover) and people seemed to like it so I’m going to stick to that.

I love Halloween even if where I live it isn’t popular at all. My favourite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus!
Autumn is my favourite season and I love all the leaves and the general energy of October!
Black high-waisted jeans are a must-have piece in my wardrobe. Also all black outfits are the ones I usually go for in colder months.
I am in look for a perfect button up shirt!
Now that October has begun hot chocolate with cream on the top is my usual drink, also tea!
My friend says that I have a slight obsession with umbrellas when it comes to my photography (I think she might be right).
If I were to get another dog it would be a black pug.
This month I only has simple eye makeup, usual just a bit of eyeliner!

And that will be it for this month’s mood board!

Previous Mood boards:
February
March
April
May

Italy Fashion and Beauty Haul

So today, as promised, I will show you a few things I bought while I was in Italy! You can also check my London haul I did a year ago if you want to! Now, let’s talk about the products 😉

img_3339
I didn’t expect to stumble upon a Sephora in Rome, but I did so I bought some benefit products including this eyeliner pen. It takes some time to get used to the design and holding it in your hand because the tip is really different from other pens, but once you are used to it you realise how amazing this pen is. The consistency is something in between a regular eye pencil and a gel liner, and also it is really long-lasting, almost waterproof! It is pretty expensive, but I think it is worth the money.
PS: If you are going to get this product I would highly recommend buying a waterproof eye makeup remover.

img_3343
I heard so many great things about this mascara, so naturally I decided to try it! First the nice lady in the store offered to put it on herself and when she did I was really impressed with the curl and length of my eyelashes. After that she introduced me with the eyeliner pen I already mentioned and some other benefit products and did a great makeup look on me! So I got both, the mascara and eyeliner! This is the Swarowski edition mascara, but I doubt it is any different form the regular one.

img_3344I have to admit that I never heard of Kiko cosmetics before I found myself in one of their stores somewhere in Rome. I instantly fell in love with this lipstick from their Ultra Glossy collection in 819. It was on sale so it was very inexpensive. What I particularly liked about it is that it has SPF 15 and how rehydrating it is.

img_3345
One of my goals of this trip was to buy a MAC lipstick and I did that! This is one of theirs satin lipstick in VIVA GLAM II, it is a pinky nude shade with a bit of sparkle. It looks great on my lips and with my skin colour and it is pretty long-lasting.

img_3347

This isn’t something I bought, but I still decided to include it in this haul. The makeup artist in Sephora gave me this as a gift, I don’t really know why but I was very thankful, and then on the cash register the lady gave me a Chanel Chance perfume sample, so all in all I really liked Sephora and people who worked there. Haha! 😉

img_3349
This bracelet I bought when I was in Pompeii because it was pretty and black. The woman said that the beads are made from Murano glass and volcano rock, this latter I doubt, but it’s still a pretty bracelet.

img_3352
This was the product that made me really love Kiko cosmetics. It was also on sale for less than 2 € and it is honestly the best nail polish I ever tried. It has beautiful shine with only one coat and it lasts for days once you put it on. I can’t wait to go to Venice to buy dozen polishes from Kiko. I belive this is in the shade 486!

img_3353
You can’t even imagine my surprise when I saw Yankee candles through a window of a small shop in Orvieto! I immediately got in and bought three candles. First I thought I would keep only one for myself, but then I decided to be a little selfish and I kept two. They smell divine and last longer than any other candle I had.

img_3430
I was searching for black boots with a small heal so I can have boots I can literally do anything in. These matched my every single desire so I bought them from H&M and they were very affordable. After I wore them for the first time I discovered that they are insanely comfortable.

img_3509
This black faux leather jacket was a great find in Zara. It doesn’t really photograph well on its own, but I love it. It has zippers on both sleeves and a peplum bottom.

img_3514
And the best for the end! This navy coat is also from Zara. It is structured so it really makes your waist look amazing, and what I also like was that it can be buttoned on both sides and as far as your neck. Perfect for the colder months.
